bloodsucking vampires
the vampires of fleet street are no different than your classic horror film vampire. as usual, they appear to be the epitome of beauty and hold a decadence poise about them. in appearance, vampires have most human-like qualities to them, however, they are much paler and often their beauty is multiplied by ten. vampires are extremely skilled at seducing their prey due to their gorgeous features. a vampire and a human cannot procreate and not every vampire falls in love with a human – this is not twilight! vampires can only have children with other vampires, end of story. vampires have two large canine teeth that extend past the size of their normal teeth and are sharp enough to pierce skin. these dentals sometimes protrude when the vampire is excited to feast, while others have fangs that are visible at all times. the changing of a human to a vampire is one that takes skill. vampires not only possess the beauty to seduce but also contain about twice as much strength as a human and are four times as fast. often times, vampires may sneak around humans without them noticing due to this advantage. a vampire may change a human two ways. the first is to bit the mortal, obviously injecting the popular vampire ‘venom’. the second way is the more common of the two. a vampire will remove all the blood of the intended victim, essentially ending their mortal life. after the human’s blood has been properly drained from his or her body, the vampire will replace the mortal with its own blood – it doesn’t take much. the mortal in question will stay in a catatonic state for six days before it rises to walk among the dead on the seventh. during those seven days, the human appears to be dead and it is said that this is the human completely ending its mortal life. vampires do indeed have reflections and items such as garlic don’t work on them. holy relics including crosses and rosaries burn their flesh if they are touched by it but will not kill them. vampires have a hard time entering churches or the vicinity of one and doing so typically engages massive migraines. they are not completely vulnerable to light but they are sensitive to it and in heat greater than seventy degrees, they will start to decay. copper is the only metal that can pierce a vampire and thus, the only thing that can kill it. severing a vampire’s head with a copper tipped sword or shooting them with a copper bullet are the best ways of killing them.
flesh eating zombies lycans
lycans differ from werewolves in the sense that lycans have the choice to change between human and werewolf form – a pure werewolf does not. in fact, it is highly debated whether or not a true werewolf even exists anymore. a lycan is not as graceful or attractive as a vampire but are far more powerful. when in human form, lycans appear to be no different than your average human. some lycans may possess scars on their skin from their first changes but it doesn’t look any different than if a human were to get cut. when taken form, lycans are usually a foot taller than their normal height and are coated with rough hair. they give off the typical vicious werewolf impression and are ruthless. lycans are stronger than both mortals and vampires alike and prevail when it comes to any judgment of strength. they are still faster than humans but vampires are superior to swiftness seeing as lycans tend to be more sluggish. just as the vampires go, a lycan and human cannot procreate. lycans during each full moon and the length of their change depends on their hunger, control, and environment. the process of changing from human form to lycan form is an extremely painful one. clothes and skin rip and bones break to accommodate the larger size of the form. depending on how experienced and skilled the lycan has become, the change may take anywhere from a few minutes to a few hours. lycans during his time are typically uncontrollable and their state of thinking is typically gone. undergoing a lycan’s first change is quite possibly the worst experience they will ever suffer seeing as they have never felt such extreme pain before. other than during the full moon, newly changed lycans may also switch back and forth between human and lycan form when they become upset and it is usually uncontrollable. experienced lycans may change when they wish if it is to their benefit. some even find pleasure in changing for the sake of torturing humans. the process of changing a mortal into a lycan is much more difficult that it is with a vampire. seeing as the lycan has very little control when it takes form, they have to practice careful restraint as not to completely devour the body in question. a simple bite, usually on the arm, is enough to change a mortal into a lycan. the site of the bite will become infected within a matter of hours, however, the person will not know of their change until their first full moon. as with vampires, precautions have to be taken into killing a lycan. whereas copper penetrates the skin of vampires, silver penetrates that of lycans. your best bet in killing a lycan is with a silver sword or silver bullets.
plain ol' mortals
every supernatural being sees mortals as the inferior race and in many cases they are. mortals can look like absolutely anything and are the weakest of all species. mortals tend to get caught up in their emotions more so than the supernatural and sometimes it leads to their demise. as the supernatural see it, mortals are ignorant and incompetent which is why they tend to be a prime target. they are targeted by any of the species, most often vampires and lycans seeing as they are the main source of food for such species. they can be easily killed and while they can fall in love with a supernatural being, procreation of any sort is impossible. there are a few mortals who are completely aware of the supernatural world. these mortals either had a run-in with a vampire or lycan or are knowns as hunters. hunters use whatever possible to eliminate the supernatural races. how boring, eh?
